What Our Customers Say
Real Google reviews from people who have visited our Catskill shop, taken a class, or commissioned a custom piece.
The owners worked with me with such patience and friendliness to settle on an engraving for a charcuterie board I gave my wife to mark a milestone. The result was stunning: a beautiful board with a perfectly executed engraving. Lovely store, beautiful products, wonderful people.
My wife and I did the charcuterie board class for my birthday. What a wonderful experience… Mostly though it was about the kindness of the owners and the really nice people we ended up in the class with. Just a great way to spend an evening with the bonus of a really beautiful board. Plus everything in the shop is incredibly made and makes you want to buy every single item.
We made a special trip to the Catskills just to visit this shop, and it was absolutely worth it. Mary Jo was incredibly warm and knowledgeable. She walked us through each piece with such depth and passion, sharing the origin and story behind every wood and what makes each one unique… You could tell these aren’t just products; they are the work of a true artisan.
Handmade in Catskill, NY
One of the greatest joys of woodworking is starting with a piece of rough-sawn lumber and carefully transforming it into a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece that someone will cherish for years to come.
We don’t have a production shop. We don’t have large commercial machinery. Heck, we don’t even have employees. Everything we sell is handcrafted by Mike—from selecting each piece of lumber to applying the final finish. Of course, Mike couldn’t do it all alone. Thankfully, his wife, Mary Jo, is not only his partner in life but also the glue that holds every aspect of Catskill Mountain Woodworking together.
Married for over 35 years, Mike and Mary Jo have a bond so strong they can finish each other’s thoughts. Their ability to work together seamlessly is what makes Catskill Mountain Woodworking a truly special business.
